First Tuesdays - December 2017

First Tuesdays featured author and poet Gene Grabiner, professor emeritus at Erie Community College, who blew in all the way from Buffalo, NY to read from his chapbook  There Must Be More Than Trigonometry.

As always, host Richard Jeffrey Newman crowdsourced a cento from the open mic readers.

 

Here it is, the cento for December 2017

 

Unrepentant and unforgiving a partridge flew through shards of broken glass (1)

It was the gilded age (2)

Where they can convince you there are no border lines (3)

The one thing you can do is close your eyes (4)

A kick in the head is what you need (5)

I'm going to watch all five seasons of The Wire on Netflix. Poof! (6)

The city smokestacks never smelled so good (7)
